A lot like Grandma Emily’s.

I don’t think a day went by in Italy that I didn’t eat pizza and pasta. I just couldn’t get enough. This was pretty good for my first Italian pizza!

As we’re riding along in our huge motor bus the motor scooters are flying by on the left hoping no one is coming around the next corner and the guys on the bikes are teaching us Italian words the tour guide says we should quickly forget. Today is Sunday and the roads are clogged with the locals who are all heading to the beach.

This was on the drive from Naples to Sorrento.   So beautiful. It was our first view of Mt. Vesuvius. It seemed wherever we went the giant volcano was there in the background.

We made it!  Naples – finally in Italy.

We arrived safely and decided it was 5:00 somewhere (if only noon here) so we celebrated with our first glass of wine.

We also met some other early arrivals. Robin (from New York) and Holly (from San Diego, who is retired from the Coast Guard).
